Daily Update!

I have been working on my 10 Things I Hate About Myself list. Just a refresher, here is my list:

  1. I hate that I am not fit and healthy!!! – this is an ongoing process and I am walking a minimum of 3 miles every day, and my pants are getting baggy – so I know that with persistence and unrelenting determination, this will continue to improve
  2. I hate that my Christmas decorations are still out at the end of February!!! -as of this evening I have all of my Christmas stuff packed up!!! YEAH!! The boxes will be put into the garage tomorrow!
  3. I hate that I don’t have a comfy couch in my living room!!! – believe it or not I have purchased a couch, and my husband will be bringing it over tomorrow
  4. I hate that I don’t have an outlet for my creativity!!! – the action I have taken on this goal so far is that I had purchased a book on oil painting and I have finished reading it, so I am hoping to set up a place to do painting soon
  5. I hate that I am not a photographer!!!
  6. I hate that my bedroom is a cluttered mess!!! – I have made it a habit to put at least one thing away every day
  7. I hate that I am not brave enough to wear every item from my closet!!!
  8. I hate that my condo does not represent my true personality!!! – I am working on treating myself like my own interior design client, and I am making BIG steps to create a home that represents me!!
  9. I hate that I have never traveled to Paris!!!
  10. I hate that my marriage is not in a healthy, happy place!!! – my husband and I are doing great, it has given me hope that we really are going to be alright, it is just going to take more time, communication, and support

So I haven’t gotten to everything yet, but I am working as hard and as fast as I am able to! I am soooo determined to just love me enough to take care of me!! I can’t be having, doing, or being ANYTHING that I hate!! Life is just too damn short!!!

I will post pics of my living room as soon as I finish getting it decorated!!!

Daily Update!

I JUST WALKED MY FIRST 5 MILE WALK!!! YEAH!!! I am officially nearing the end of my 4th week of training for the 3-day 60 Mile walk, and I WALKED 5 MILES!!!!! AAAACK!!! If you would have asked me when I first started training a few weeks ago, I would have NEVER thought that I would be able to walk 5 miles in one go!!!! Whew!! That is such a GREAT feeling!!  Anyway, my goal for the week is to walk 17.5 miles by the end of tomorrow, my week starts over every Sunday, so far I think I have 15 miles down already, and with my planned 4 tomorrow – I should be good to go!!! YEAH!!!

In regards to my list that I created yesterday, “10 Things I Hate About Myself”, besides my healthy, which I have been working on – I am actively working on cleaning up my bedroom, and getting my Christmas decorations put away; I am also looking at couches at mentally planning how to to rearrange the main floor of my condo so that it better reflects the real me!! Busy! Busy! Busy!!

10 Things I Hate About Myself!!!

Ok, I just watched a new show called 10 Things I Hate About Myself! It was pretty good and inspired me to think about 10 things that I don’t like about myself and fix them one by one!!!

Here is my list:

  1. I hate that I am not fit and healthy!!!
  2. I hate that my Christmas decorations are still out at the end of February!!!
  3. I hate that I don’t have a comfy couch in my living room!!!
  4. I hate that I don’t have an outlet for my creativity!!!
  5. I hate that I am not a photographer!!!

Ok, so some of those things are big things, and some are just minor nuisances that I need to make a priority to just get them done! I will keep you posted of my progress!!! Wish me luck!!

Daily Update!!

WHEW!!! Stop the world, I wanna get off!!! I am seriously burning my candle at both ends!! There is just so much to do and not enough of me to go around!! But, I have to tell you, even with all of what I am doing to try not to drown in a sea of chaos, I am pretty proud of myself that somehow I am managing to get it all done. I even had some time this evening before bed to sit and blog, read a little, and just BREATHE!!! I am getting pretty good at multitasking. For example, when cooking dinner, I don’t just make tonight’s dinner, but I try to make tomorrow’s lunch and tomorrow’s dinner!!! That seems to be working really well! Also, not procrastinating is the only way that I have been able to keep my place clean – there just seems to be soooo much to do, and it is almost never-ending!!! The only thing that I am having a really hard time doing is taking down my Christmas decorations. OH MY GOSH!!!! I can’t believe that it is Feb 9th and I still have a Christmas tree sparkling in the corner. It is beautiful, but come on now!! SHEESH!!

Ok, well I will just have to add it to the list!! ONWARD!!!

Daily Update!

Ok, so you know the best thing about making lasagna??? It is having lasagna on night #2. I am not sure what it is about lasagna, but it just seems to get tastier the next day!! YUM!!! Oh, and I finally found a perk to being single – you get to lick the plate and there is not a damn soul who can give you a hard time of it!! LOL!!! Sorry, sweetie, but it is true!!!

Anyway, my girlfriend and I walked 3.125 miles today!!! WHEW!!! I have to learn to wear appropriate shoes. The ones I wore today were a little too big, and my poor feet were slipping and sliding, and I was doing everything I could not to fall!!! Let me tell you that is not the best thing for someone who is gracefully-challenged!!! But all is good, and I feel GREAT that we are able to walk so far! My goal for this week is to walk 16 miles!!! So, I look to be right on track!! YEAH!!

Anyway, I am just doing some chores, but really don’t have much planned for tonight! I have night blindess, so I am pretty much stuck at the house, and you can only clean a house so many times, so after this load of laundry is done, I am bathing one of my girls and I am good to go!!!

Oh, I am looking for a FABULOUS recipe for an extra thin, crispy, flaky pizza crust – so if anyone has a recipe that might fit the bill nicely, I would be soooooo happy!! Thanks!!!

One More Thing!!!

I have to tell you that I LOVE SKINNY COW Mint Ice Cream Sandwiches!!! YUM!!! They have gotten me through a many hormonal-oh-my-goodness-I need-some-ice-cream-and-chocolate-right-this-minute-or-else-my-body-will-implode-on-itself-causing-a-shattering-ripple-in-the-time-space-continuum moments in my life! I just hought I would share!!!

Daily Update!

Ok, so first let me tell you that everything is going better than expected, seeing that I am now single-ish!!! My sweetie and I are dating, and for the most part we are doing most all of our communication online, and that is going FAMOUSLY!!! I have his undivided attention – it is VERY nice!!! I got to have lunch with him today, which was sooo great!!! It feels good to be getting to know him again!!!

Ok, so I know I mention this all the time, but I am currently in training to walk the 3-day 60 mile Susan G Komen Breast Cancer walk, which is in late September. I have just finished week #1, and for being a 330, no wait a 320 pound woman, did I mention I lost 10 pounds????? Yes, thank you!! Anyway, I walked 13.5 miles during my first week, and seeing that the old me walked 0.00 miles a week, that is pretty freakin’ phenomenal!!!! I am very proud of myself, but I can’t take all of the credit, my co-worker Chris has been my  supporter and my sis-in-laws, Alex and Nette, are not only cheering me on, they are actually joining me for my Saturday and Sunday walks!!! What would I do without the support of all of my sister friends???

Ok, so yesterday I was feeling rather froggy – I had just finished walking 3 miles after all 😉 – so, when I got home after going grocery shopping, I prepped 2 mini meatloafs, a mini lasagna – good for two nights and some amazingly delicious and good for you taco soup!! Tonight I am reaping some of the rewards of my hard work because I am sitting here getting ready to enjoy a piece of my mom’s yummy lasagna and a great big green salad!! Oh, sometimes it really is the little things that makes you soooo happy! At least it does for me, that is for sure!!

Anyway, I have a busy day planned for tomorrow, but the thing I am most excited about getting completed is my two mile walk!! I am loving walking – it energizes you, and makes you tired at the same time, in such a gratifying way!! After only one week, my stress level is way down, the impossible seems possible, and I am sleeping so much more soundly!!! God has done such a magnificent job with this body he has blessed me with – oh that does sound vain doesn’t it??? I just meant that he really knew what he was doing, and I just have to treat it right to have it serve me well!!! God is good!!!
