Megan Night!

This past Friday my husband and I had a BLAST hanging out with our 6-year-old neice Megan!!! I thought I would tell you about what we did through pictures – ENJOY!!!

My sweetie AKA Uncle Jay-Jay dropped us girls off to get a manicure!! Megan hardly said a word – she is such a people watcher (I LOVE THAT ABOUT HER!!!), but she did pick out which color we got our nails painted and SURPRISE, she chose PURPLE! That is her FAVORITE color right now!!! Man, this girl has got S-T-Y-L-E!!!

While Uncle Jay-Jay was patiently waiting for us girls, we decided to walk around downtown and do some SERIOUS window shopping!!! I took her to my FAVORITE little French store downtown called Ma Valise! She had a lot of fun trying on scarves, hats, jewelry, and her FAVE was all of the FUNKY glasses!!
I am VERY PROUD to say that she gets that from me!!!

Well, after we met uncle Jay-Jay at the coffee shop we went home, and Uncle Jay-Jay made Megan’s favorite for dinner – Chicken Parmesan!! What can I say, this girl loves any kind of Italian food that happens to be served with angel hair pasta!!

Later that night, I got to teach her how to crochet a chain, and man was she determined to figure it out!!! The next morning that is all she wanted to do!!

Jason and I had wanted to take her to a place called Wings of Wonder, or what Megan refers to it as – the butterfly zoo! It is this large building that has a mini tropical rainforest inside, but once you get in there yourself it is kind of like a fairy land with hundreds of butterflies, of all different species flying all over the place!! It was pretty magical!! Megan and I wore sparkly glitter eyeshadow and flowers in our hair, which really seemed fitting of the occasion!! The butter flies were drawn to her flower in her hair – she really got a KICK OUT OF THAT!!!
And our favorite butterfly:
After purchasing a couple catterpillar “grow kits” at the Wings of Wonder gift shop (these kits come with 4 caterpillars in a container that has food at the bottom of it and everything you need to be able to watch your caterpillars grow and metemorphasize (is that a word?) into butteflies), Jason had prepared a lovely picnic that we enjoyed while sitting in the zoo’s garden tables.
Finally, after we were finished with lunch, I took what seemed like a thousand more pictures while Megan and Uncle Jay-Jay played, Megan decided it was time to go back on the ferry, which we had taken to get to the butterfly zoo; what Jason and I didn’t realize was that Megan had never been on a ferry nor did she even know what one was. SO, as soon as she got comfortable with the idea – it was like a carnival ride to her!!!
As we driving back home, I asked Megan what her favorite time of our sleepover was, and when there was no answer from behind me…
I realized we had run her ragged, but it was such a GREAT weekend!!! I can’t wait until her little brother gets a little older and we can do something cool with him too!!! We love you, Megan!!! šŸ˜‰
